On Sunday, July 29, 2007 a group from the United States Marshals Service joined together to discuss common issues faced by the black/African-American law enforcement workforce. The delegation was attending the 31st Annual NOBLE 2007 Training Conference and Exhibition in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. During the discussion, it became clear that the issues were not preparatory to the NOBLE members. Many, if not all, minority groups in the USMS workforce would face similar problems with respect to fair and equal promotional treatment. The “unity” shown during that day and throughout the conference stroked the iron “ore” of change. What we now forge with the line of communication is up to you… the readers and supporters of real diversity in our workforce.
